On Oct.30,2015, Caterpillar Painting Engineer Mr Xu(Xu Zejiang) carried out BGPP(Benchmarking Guide for Painting Process) Audit in Dongyue. Rely on proper process route, steady equipment control and good painting performance, Dongyue eventually passed BGPP Audit with outstanding results: 80.8 points(Tier Three Caterpillar Painting Supplier); Meanwhile Dongyue also passed Caterpillar’s CCT(Cycle Corrosion Test)Sample Test.

   BGPP is acronym for “Benchmarking Guide for paint process”. Developed by Caterpillar CPS-painting team, the template is used to evaluate and analyze supplier’s painting ability. It carried out from five aspects: 1. Understanding and compliance to CAT specifications (the weight); 2. The impact caused by facility to painting workshop; 3. The audit aiming at painting line; 4. Painting quality; 5. Assessment result. Caterpillar assesses supplier’s painting level from these five aspects comprehensively.

   Based on Salt Spray Test, CCT Sample Test is a further test for adhesion performance and anti-corrosion performance as these two are lifelines of paint. The biannual CCT sample test is Caterpillar’s request to suppliers. If failed in test with continuous three times, Global Purchasing will take some action including terminate supplier’s painting business.

   In the depression of machinery industry, appearance requirement from customer extent to an extremely strict degree, this inevitably presents new requests and challenges to Dongyue which serve as one of Caterpillar’s global fabrication suppliers. Only by meeting customer’s requirements and surpass them, can provide an unremitting drive to Dongyue’s unceasing development.
